Expert Forum Series: Helping Business Owners Understand the Requirements for Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems Before Purchasing a Property

Description:
A commercial property buyer depends on their licensed real estate professional to provide essential information about the property’s drinking water supply and wastewater system. In Rhode Island, the Department of Health mandates that certain establishments use water from a public water system (PWS). Well-informed real estate licensees can educate buyers on the importance of securing a property that meets their business’s water and wastewater needs. This training aims to equip real estate professionals with the knowledge to address buyers’ common concerns, offer guidance on necessary requirements, and direct them to additional resources for informed decision-making.

Presenters:

  • Nancy Scarduzio, State Small Business Ombudsman, RI Dept. of Business Regulation
  • Amy Parmenter, Chief Administrator, Center for Drinking Water Quality, RI Dept. of Health
  • Brendalee Viveiros, PhD, Chief, Center for Food Protection, RI Dept. of Health
